I thought I was going to try to post some of the costs for the things we bought in Peru, but I forgot on the first two posts, so here's an idea of what we spent those first couple days. Again, the Nuevo Sol is the Peruvian currency, about 3 soles to the dollar, although many places take dollars also.
12/30: $15 for breakfast at Laguardia airport
$19 for two beers at Miami airport
(you can tell we are still in the US because things cost so much more.)
Most of the rest of our meals etc were with American Airlines vouchers.
12/31: phone card to call a hotel S/10
cab ride from airport (supposed to be 45 soles but cost extra "because of the holiday" - although he didn't charge us for the advice on lodging) S/60
2 large beers at German bar S/24
Dinner along with a drink each S/80
Champagne, cheese, crackers for our new years celebration S/59
Hotel $50
