A Little Road Trip

Last month, my uncle Richard passed away. I am sad that he is gone, and I think daily about his children, wife, and brothers (including my dad).

Chris and I drove out to Ohio to attend the memorial service, and it was nice to get to see some family that I don't see very often. We all went out to dinner together. We did just get to see Lindsay, Mark, and Tyler on our road trip in April, and now we've seen them more often this year than in the two decades before that. Next time, hope we don't all wait so long to be together again!

After dinner, we lounged around at the hotel.

It was a sad occasion, but a nice visit.

Portraits part 2

Gotta love this shot with the nakey baby. Of course, you always risk a little pee on the bed when you try something like this.

Look, mommy, I'm supergirl!

This is one of my favorites from the day, and I hope its one of Katie's, too. Beautiful daddy-daughter moment.

Later the sun came out, so we put on a pretty sundress and headed outside to capture a few more shots!

I LOVED Ev's little robe, and was really happy when we headed over to the pool to get some bathing beauty shots. Too adorable!

Curt and Katie are both former lifeguards, and Ev is an experienced swimmer already.

They go to the pool 2-3 times a week, and she always goes underwater...

But that doesn't mean she always likes it!

I had so much fun taking these pictures! Hope to get more portraits of the Weavers soon!!

Portrait Session

We recently took a little road trip to Burlington for the weekend. We had a great time, and the best part was that we got to see good friends Curt and Katie that we hadn't seen for months. We also got to meet baby Evie! Evelyn was born back in September and we've all been so busy that we haven't been able to get together, so this was a special treat for us. She was so charming and adorable. They were patient enough to let me practice my portrait-taking with them! I was happy with how the photos came out. Processing them in the computer took some time, and I was guilty to take almost a month to get them to Katie, but they're finally done and ready for their debut! I picked a few of my favorites to share with everyone.

We started outside, at a park in front of Lake Champlaign.

It started to rain, but we found some shelter and busted out the umbrella!

How adorable is Evie??

One of my favorite family shots.

I love the baby-smooching shots...

especially Ev's expression in this one!

The fist full of glasses cracks me up!

Katie is too gorgeous. I'll have to do a whole session with just her sometime.

This shot was not turning out exactly how I had planned in my head, but I can't help but laugh at how upset Ev was about it all! She definitely got tired of being a model.

Check out that wicked air!

I have realized that there are way too many pics for one post. So, you'll just have to be in suspense for the second part of the photo shoot!
