So apparently July is half over, and I have been terrible about posting this month. I have an excuse! I've been working a lot (you knew that was coming!) but I've also been spending a lot of time on wedding crafts. I have gotten a lot done the past couple weeks, and now I am trying to put together a few blog entries for the next couple weeks to let you know what I've been (or will be!) up to.
Last week, we had an evening that we got to spend together. We went to happy hour at City Crab, and had dollar oysters! Yum! I don't know how oysters can taste good, since I guess you don't exactly taste them...
But they were!
The next day we were in the neighborhood of my favorite dessert shop, so of course we had to stop in for a treat! In addition to my cereal milk, we each got a soft serve.
Cool flavors! I had the lemon verbena, and chris had the rosemary.
Mine was more of a sherbet. (Or is that sorbet?) But I think the rosemary was better.
Ok, more blog posts coming soon, I promise!

My Big Accomplishment of the Week
This is a little embarrassing.
This week, I finally got rid of something we've been keeping around for well over a year. Yes, that's right, it came out here with us from VT. We actually took the time and effort to move... a box of throwaway documents.
It started small, just a credit card offer here, and a patient list there. (Identifying health care information that is confidential and should be shredded.) And before we knew it, we had a whole BOX full of papers. Just. Sitting. There.
We were going to buy a shredder. But never really got around to it. Then came the wedding registry, and now we've registered for one. So we thought we should just wait and see if one shows up, rather than go out and buy one. But what to do with all this stuff?
Finally, this week, I got fed up with the box. I am trying to clean which feels almost impossible with wedding stuff surrounding me, but I decided something had to be done. So on four mornings this week, I had an extra tote bag with me when I arrived at work. See, at the hospital every nursing station has a box marked "Confidential waste" where we put all of the paperwork that we throw out. Health care information is private so they have to provide the shredding boxes. So I showed up with my tote bag, and went over and dumped all the papers into it.
There is only a small-ish slot, so I have to put the papers in a few at a time. So it took a few minutes. But that few minutes each morning was so worth it! Now I am left with
And every time one of the nurses said anything about all the paper, I just said "Oh yeah, cleaned out my locker." And then I get the old, oh yeah, I know how that is. Ha! They should know that neither the hospital nor the anesthesia department cares enough about us to provide us a locker! But I got away with it. And now, I am one step closer to having the empty apartment, free of clutter, that I dream about daily.

Happy July
I haven't written too many posts lately, because I just haven't done anything to talk about! I worked this past weekend, I wanted to watch some fireworks on TV but unfortunately was too busy, and I work this weekend too. Then I have the next two weekends off! Yay!
I will tell you about my day yesterday. It started out with me pouring juice on my cereal - oops! Then I started brushing my teeth with the wrong toothbrush. What a morning! I wasn't even as tired as usual! Oh well, the day got better when I got done with work a little early and went to the gym. Then I had time to run some errands. And as I walked out of a store, who should I see but Chris? He was out taking a walk with some of the residents at his work. I walked a block with them and met a couple of the guys I hadn't met before. That was great! Then I came home and made fudge!! YUM. Then I finished up working on wedding invitations - they are just about ready to be sent out! I even had time to goof off on the internet. :) So that was a day in the life of Shelli.
More posts later this week, hopefully I'll find something good to take pictures of soon!
